What is Fem pH?
Fem pH is an acetic acid that comes in the form of a vaginal gel. It helps treat certain types of infections by increasing acidic levels in the vagina. It may be prescribed alongside other medications to help treat a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis.
How do I use Fem pH?
Carefully follow the instructions of your doctor when using the special applicator that comes with your Fem pH prescription. If you are still unsure how to use the applicator when it’s time to apply a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Always wash your hands after each dose. Disassemble the applicator and wash it with warm water and soap after each use.
Before using Fem pH, tell your doctor if:

What are the possible side effects of using Fem pH?
Serious side effects of Fem pH are rare. However, some women have reported mild burning or stinging at the application site. Contact your doctor right away if you experience burning or stinging that becomes severe, and get emergency medical attention in the unlikely event that you experience a severe allergic reaction (symptoms may include facial swelling, difficulty breathing, rash, hives, and chest tightness).
What if I forget to use a dose of Fem pH?
Administer the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time for your next scheduled dose. In this case, skip the missed dose and proceed with your regular schedule. Never administer two doses of Fem pH at once.
How do I store Fem pH?
Store your bottle of Fem pH at room temperature. Do not keep it in the bathroom, as high heat, moisture, and bright light can negatively affect it. Never leave your Fem pH bottle anywhere that children or pets could reach. If you no longer need this medication, ask your pharmacist how to safely dispose of it.
What happens if I overdose on Fem pH?
You aren’t likely to overdose on Fem pH when applying it to your vagina, but this gel may be harmful if taken by mouth. If you or someone in your home has swallowed some of this medication, call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) to find out what to do.
Warnings
Don’t use tampons while you are being treated with Fem pH; use pads or panty liners instead. If your symptoms get worse or don’t improve after regular use of this medication, contact your doctor.
