What is Loprox?

Loprox is an antifungal drug. It works by killing fungus that causes infections. As a gel or cream, it is used to treat ringworm, jock itch, athlete’s foot, and certain types of yeast infections. As a shampoo, it may be used to treat seborrheic dermatitis (a condition that affects the scalp).

How do I take Loprox?

If you are using the Loprox gel or cream, clean and pat dry the affected area, and apply a thin layer of the medication. If you are using the shampoo, wet your hair first, and rub about one to two teaspoons of the medication into your scalp. Let the shampoo sit on your scalp for three minutes before rinsing it out. Only use the Loprox drug as often as your doctor has instructed you to; using it more frequently or in larger doses will not help kill the fungus faster.

What are the possible side effects of taking Loprox?

How do I store Loprox?

Keep Loprox in its original container at room temperature, away from moisture and high heat. Keep all prescription medications, including Loprox, out of reach of pets and children in your home. If you have the shampoo, use it within eight weeks of opening it, and dispose of any unused medication after it has expired. What happens if I overdose on Loprox?

It is unlikely that you will overdose on Loprox when applying it topically, although applying a large amount of the medication may increase your likelihood of experiencing skin irritation. Warnings
