• What
This medicine is a male sex hormone used for treating symptoms of low testosterone in adult men when the body does not make any testosterone or not enough testosterone (hypogonadism). It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
• How
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. APPLY THE PATCH to a clean, dry area of skin on the back, stomach, upper arms, or thighs. ROTATE SITES DAILY, allowing 7 days before applying a patch to the same site again. DO NOT APPLY THIS MEDICINE to the scrotum, genitals, bony areas, or other areas subject to prolonged pressure during sleep or sitting. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. THROW THIS MEDICINE AWAY in a household trash can in a way that prevents children or pets from accidentally using or taking them. IF YOU MISS A DOSE of this medicine, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT use 2 doses at once.
• Precautions
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking carbamazepine, corticosteroids (eg, prednisone), macrolide immunosuppressants (eg, tacrolimus), oxyphenbutazone, anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), insulin, oral hypoglycemics (eg, glyburide), or propranolol. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including if you have heart disease, heart failure, coronary artery disease, angina (chest pain), high cholesterol levels, swelling (edema), lung disease, sleep apnea (long pauses in breathing while you sleep), diabetes, an enlarged prostate, kidney or liver disease, high blood calcium levels, obesity, or allergies. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you are female, pregnant, breast-feeding, or if you have known or suspected breast cancer or prostate cancer. This medicine should not be used in CHILDREN younger than 18 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine.
• Side Effects
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include acne; bitter or strange taste in mouth; change in sex drive; fatigue; gum or mouth irritation; gum pain; gum tenderness or swelling; hair loss; or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience breast growth or pain; change in the size or shape of the testicles; dark urine or light-colored bowel movements; depression or mood changes; dizziness; gingivitis; interrupted breathing while sleeping; loss of appetite; nausea; painful or prolonged erection; stomach pain; swelling of the ankles or legs; urination problems; weight gain; or yellowing of the skin or eyes. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. • Overdose
IF OVERDOSE IS SUSPECTED, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms may include confusion; one-sided weakness; vision problems.
• Additional Info
After removing the used patch, fold over with the sticky side together. Discard the patch out of the reach of children and pets. DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children and pets. IF USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
