This medicine is a polypeptide mixture used to reduce the frequency of relapses in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine comes with a patient information leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. USE THIS MEDICINE at the same time every day. This medicine is sometimes used at home as an injection. IF YOU ARE USING THIS MEDICINE AT HOME, a healthcare professional will provide detailed instructions for its appropriate use. Ask them any questions that you may have about your medicine or giving injections. Be sure to use the proper injection device for the type of syringe (e.g., glass or plastic) the medication is in. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about the device. If the medicine contains particles or if the vial is cracked or damaged in any way, do not use it. STORE THIS MEDICINE as directed on the prescription label or on the packaging. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT use 2 doses at once.
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicines that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include anxiety; back pain; flushing; headache; mild redness, pain, itching, or a lump at the injection site; nausea; vomiting; weakness; or weight gain. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience abnormal thinking; chest pain or tightness; dizziness; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever, chills, or sore throat; persistent flushing or anxiety; pounding in the chest; severe pain, redness, or swelling at injection site; shortness of breath; skin hardening, thinning, or color change at the injection site; sweating; tightness in the throat; tremor; unusual swelling; or vaginal odor, discharge, or itching. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing or swallowing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS PRODUCT, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Dispose of properly after use. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to explain local regulations for selecting an appropriate container and properly disposing of the container when it is full.
