Layolis FE Information:
What is Layolis FE?
Layolis FE contains a mixture of progestin and estrogen hormones. It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (a process called ovulation) during the menstrual cycle. It also thickens vaginal fluid to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg and changes the structure of the lining of the uterus to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg.
How do I take Layolis FE?
Take Layolis FE orally with or without food, usually once per day. Follow all instructions provided by your doctor. Take a pill at the same time each day at a time that is easy to remember. The amount of hormones in each pill varies at different points during a cycle, so it is vital to take the first pill at a regular interval and stay on a strict dosing schedule.
Before taking Layolis FE, tell your doctor if:
- You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are nursing
- You have diabetes
- You have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or high triglycerides
- You have gallbladder problems
- You have heart problems
- You have any blood clotting disorders
- You have any food or drug allergies
- You are taking any other medications or supplements
What are the possible side effects of taking Layolis FE?
Hormonal birth control medications have common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, swelling of the ankles or feet, or weight change. Irregular periods or vaginal bleeding between periods, often called spotting, may occur, especially during the first few months of use.
What if I forget to take a dose of Layolis FE?
Refer to the product package information for advice on missed doses. For birth control pills, missed dosage guidance is often very specific. You may need to use back-up birth control such as condoms to prevent pregnancy while you attempt to readjust your dosing schedule. Be sure to follow all advice from a doctor.
How do I store Layolis FE?
Store Layolis FE at room temperature and keep away from light and moisture. Keep all medications away from children and pets. Do not store in the bathroom.
What happens if I overdose on Layolis FE?
You may experience severe nausea, vomiting, or sudden and unusual vaginal bleeding if you overdose on Layolis FE. Contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or get to an emergency room immediately.
