What are the possible side effects of taking zonisamide?

Some of the most common side effects of zonisamide are drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, temporary loss of coordination, loss of appetite, and diarrhea. In rare cases, zonisamide may cause an imbalance of acid in your blood (metabolic acidosis), which can lead to a fast heart rate, rapid breathing, severe fatigue, and bone pain. What happens if I forget to take zonisamide?

Store zonisamide at room temperature. Do not keep it in the bathroom, as light and humidity can negatively affect this medicine. What happens if I overdose on zonisamide?

Zonisamide may make you sweat less, which puts you at greater risk for heat stroke. Be careful not to overexert yourself in hot weather while taking this medication.
