What is Dermazene?
Dermazene is a brand, medicated topical cream that is used to treat itching and inflammation of the skin caused by certain skin conditions when bacteria or fungus is present. Dermazene contains hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid (similar to a hormone that is produced by the adrenal glands) that helps to reduce swelling, redness and itching of the skin, and iodoquinol, an antibiotic that helps to prevent the growth of bacteria and/or fungus.
How do I use Dermazene?

Apply a small amount of Dermazene cream to the affected area.

Wash hands after applying this medication as it may stain skin. Do not wash hands if the hands are the area being treated.

Do not bandage or cover the treated area of skin unless instructed by your doctor to do so.
- Follow the instructions included in the packaging and follow your doctor’s instructions for using this medication.
Before using Dermazene, tell your doctor if:

you are allergic to Dermazene or any other medications

you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications, vitamins, or supplements

you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding
-
you have any type of skin infection
-
you have any cuts or scrapes
-
you have had a recent vaccination
-
you have have measles, tuberculosis, chicken pox, or shingles

you have had a positive test for tuberculosis

Dermazene is for external use only.

Avoid getting Dermazene in your eyes. If this medication does get in your eyes, flush eyes immediately with water.

Long-term or frequent use of Dermazene may cause a second infection. If you notice any signs of infection, contact your doctor immediately.

Dermazene may stain skin and fabrics. Practice caution when using this medication.

If this medication is being used to treat diaper rash, only apply a small amount on the affected area. Do not use plastic pants or tight-fitting diapers while using this medication.
What are the possible side effects of using Dermazene? Contact your doctor if you experience these symptoms and if they do not go away:

What if I forget to use a dose of Dermazene?
Use your missed dose of Dermazene as soon as your remember to take it, unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dose schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
How do I store Dermazene?
Store this medication tightly closed when not in use. Store it at room temperature and keep away from excess moisture and heat. Do not store this medication in the bathroom. Keep this medication out of reach of children and away from pets. Properly dispose of any expired or unnecessary medication.
What happens if I overdose on Dermazene?
In case of overdose, call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) to find out what to do, or seek immediate medical attention.
Symptoms of overdose may include:

muscle weakness

unusual weight gain, particularly in the face
